시놉시스

가정과 학교, 그리고 사회에서 소외되어 수면 아래로 가라앉은 이들이 있습니다.

‘청소년’이자 ‘성소수자’라는 이중의 취약함을 겪고 있는 청소년 성소수자들입니다.

우리 교실에 성소수자가 있을 수 있다는 사실을 학교 교육은 외면합니다.

내 아이가 성소수자일 수 있다는 가능성을 양육자는 부정합니다.

이렇게 학교와 가정에서 내쫓긴 청소년 성소수자들을 품어줄 공간이 우리 사회에는 없습니다.

그럼에도 불구하고 희망을 잃지 않을 수 있는 이유는,

이처럼 열악한 상황 속에서도 꿋꿋이 파도를 만들어 내는 사람들이 있기 때문입니다.

10대부터 70대까지, 그리고 퀴어부터 앨라이까지.

한 명 한 명의 물장구를 모아 파도를 만들고,

해류를 거슬러 고유한 파도를 타는 항해자들에 대한 이야기를 담았습니다.

그 항해의 끝에는 사랑이 이기는 세상이 있다고 믿습니다.

Sinking below the surface are individuals marginalized by their families, schools, and society.

These are queer youth, experiencing the dual vulnerabilities of being both young and part of a sexual minority.

School education turns a blind eye to the possibility that there may be queer students in our classrooms. Caregivers deny the possibility that their child could be queer.

In this way, queer youth, cast out by both schools and families, have no safe space to turn to in society. Yet, the reason we can hold on to hope is because there are people who create waves despite these dire circumstances.

From teens to those in their 70s, and from queer individuals to allies—

they come together, pooling their ripples to create waves, navigating against the current and riding their unique waves as voyagers. This story captures those voyagers and their journeys.

At the end of their voyage, we believe in a world where love triumphs

연출의도

청소년 성소수자지원센터 <띵동>에 따르면,

청소년 성소수자 두 명 중 한 명은 자살을 시도하고 있습니다.

이러한 상황에도 청소년 성소수자에 대한 국가 차원의 교육과 연구는 전무하고,

오히려 그 존재를 지우고 있습니다.

지난 6월, 서울시는 학생의 성별, 종교, 나이, 성적 지향, 성별 정체성 등을 이유로

차별받지 않을 권리를 명시하는 학생인권조례를 12년 만에 폐지하기도 했습니다.

가정에서도, 학교에서도, 사회에서도

첨벙, 가라앉은 청소년 성소수자들의 이야기를 담고 싶었습니다.

그럼에도 불구하고 어떻게든 가라앉지 않겠다며

첨벙 첨벙, 헤엄치는 청소년 성소수자들의 찬란한 유영도 그려내고 싶었습니다.

나아가 지지하고 연대하는 퀴어와 앨라이들의 목소리를 그러모아,

우리만의 파도를 만들어 사랑이 이기는 세상으로 함께 나아가자고 외치고 싶었습니다.

청소년 성소수자들이 자신의 존재를 구태여 설명하고 증명해야만 하는 세상이 아닌,

온전한 나로 존중받을 수 있는 세상을 꿈꾸며 이 다큐멘터리를 선물합니다.

According to , a support center for queer youth, one out of two queer youth attempts suicide.

Despite this dire reality, there is a complete absence of national-level education and research on queer youth. Instead, their existence is being erased.

In June, the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education repealed the Student Human Rights Ordinance after 12 years, undoing a policy that had explicitly guaranteed students the right not to be discriminated against based on gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

In this context, we wanted to tell the stories of queer youth who have been cast adrift, ignored by their families, schools, and society.

At the same time, we sought to depict the radiant swimming of queer youth who, despite everything, refuse to sink and keep moving against the tide.

Furthermore, we aimed to amplify the voices of queer individuals and allies who support and stand in solidarity, gathering these voices to create our own wave and call for a world where love triumphs.

This documentary is a gift, created with the hope of a world where queer youth no longer have to explain or prove their existence, but are instead fully respected for who they are.
