Synopsis 시놉시스

철거를 앞두고 비어져 있는 집들과 상가들이 즐비하는 한적한 동네. 재개발 조합원인 은희(여/32세)가 빈집을 점검하던 중, 골목에서 우연히 한 아이(여/9세)와 마주한다. 이때, 아이가 재개발 조합에서 가져온 얼음 팩을 훔쳐 달아나면서 은희가 아이를 뒤쫓아 가고, 어느 반지하 집으로 들어가게 된다.

In a quiet neighborhood lined with empty houses and shuttered storefronts awaiting demolition, Eunhee (female, 32), a member of the redevelopment association, stops by to inspect a vacant property. While walking through the alley, she unexpectedly encounters a young girl (female, 9). The moment Eunhee looks away, the girl snatches an ice pack that Eunhee brought from the redevelopment office and takes off running. Eunhee chases after her and follows the girl into a semi-basement apartment.

곰팡이 핀 벽지와 낡은 가구들로 채워진 으스스한 집 안. 곧 철거 예정인지라 은희가 아이를 집에서 내보내기 위해 실랑이를 벌인다. 그러던 중, 갑작스레 작동하는 냉장고의 코드를 뽑으려다 냉장고가 쓰러지면서 은희의 다리가 깔리는 사고가 발생한다. 냉장고가 엎어지며 열린 문틈으로 시체의 손과 수많은 얼음들이 쏟아져 나온다. 공포에 사로잡힌 은희가 정신 없이 냉장고를 밀어보지만, 무게로 인해 움직이지 않는다. 아이에게 도움을 요청해 보아도, 아이는 스스로를 자학하는 이상 행동을 반복할 뿐, 집에서 나가려 하지 않는다. 엎친 데 덮친 격으로 굴삭기가 마을로 들어오며, 철거 작업이 시작되는데… 과연 은희가 이 집에서 마주하는 진실은 무엇이며, 집에서 무사히 탈출할 수 있을까?

Inside the dim, unsettling space filled with mold-stained wallpaper and old, worn-out furniture, Eunhee tries to force the girl to leave, insisting the building is about to be demolished. In the middle of the struggle, she attempts to unplug a refrigerator that suddenly starts running. The refrigerator topples over, crashing onto Eunhee’s leg and pinning her down. As it hits the floor, the door bursts open and a human hand and countless blocks of ice spill out. Terrified, Eunhee desperately tries to push the refrigerator away, but it is far too heavy. She calls out to the girl for help, but the girl only repeats strange, self-harming gestures and refuses to leave the apartment. To make matters worse, an excavator rumbles into the neighborhood and demolition work begins. What truth will Eunhee uncover inside this house, and will she be able to escape before it is too late?

재개발이라는 물리적 공간의 붕괴와 함께 인물 내면의 붕괴를 그린 영화이다. 외면하고 싶은 현실과 트라우마를 떠안고 살아가는 주인공의 상실과 고통의 무게를 그려내며, 자본주의 사회에서 개인이 어떻게 소외되고 고립되는지를 탐구한다.

This film portrays the collapse of a person's inner world alongside the physical collapse brought on by redevelopment. It follows a protagonist who carries an unbearable reality and unresolved trauma, exploring the weight of loss and pain she endures. At its core, the film examines how individuals become isolated and marginalized within a capitalist society.
